TSMC Q3 profit hits record as full-year US dollar revenue growth target raised to 44%
TSMC reports third-quarter revenue of US$46.72 billion and net income of NT$763.06 billion; fourth-quarter revenue is forecast to reach as much as US$54.3 billion.
Taiwan's leading contract chipmaker TSMC reported strong third-quarter results, with quarterly revenue and profit both reaching record highs as demand for artificial intelligence (AI) chips continued to grow. The company also raised its full-year US dollar revenue growth outlook, underscoring the importance of advanced semiconductors to the global technology industry.
According to Central News Agency, TSMC's third-quarter revenue reached US$46.72 billion, or about NT$1.4942 trillion, up 17.6% from the previous quarter. Net income attributable to the parent company came to NT$763.06 billion, an annual increase of about 69%, while earnings per share stood at NT$29.43.
TSMC Chairman and CEO C.C. Wei said demand for advanced technologies remained strong and that the gradual ramp-up of the 2-nanometer process would support the company's performance going forward. The company forecasts fourth-quarter revenue of between US$52.3 billion and US$54.3 billion and has raised its 2026 US dollar revenue growth target to about 44%.
Demand for AI servers, high-performance computing and advanced packaging has been a key driver of TSMC's results. As major technology companies continue to invest in AI infrastructure, demand for advanced chips remains strong. However, the global economic environment, the consumer electronics market and rising capital expenditure remain risks that the semiconductor industry needs to monitor.
TSMC's results not only reflect the company's competitiveness, but also highlight Taiwan's key role in the global AI supply chain. The market will continue to watch whether AI investment can sustain its growth and how expansion of advanced-process capacity affects costs and profit margins.
